Sparkling wines are produced all over France and in Burgundy, they are called Crémant de Bourgogne. Bailly-Lapierre is a producer in the village of Bailly in the northern part of the province. This neighbours Champagne, so not only are the grapes grown in Champagne (it’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay), but also very similar. Since the same method is used in the preparation of sparkling wine as in Champagne, the results are often very good.
This wine has a straw yellow colour, bubbles well and beautifully, fairly sleek large bubbles. The fresh smell of apples, citrus, brioche and biscuits, vanilla and lime. Soft and vibrant filling.
