Using authentic Saaz hops, special sorts of barley and yeast, Jan Kohout and Vilem Pick created a beer known today as Staropramen. The first brewery, referred to as "the pit", was built in 1869 in the Smíchov district of Prague, and in 1933, after extensive modernisation took place, the brewery became the biggest brewery in Czechoslovakia.

Tasting Notes:

A lighter larger, it has a pleasantly smooth taste and well rounded flavour. With a soft malty palate and a gentle bitterness on the finish.

Pairing Suggestions:

Pairs well with BBQ food and cheese.
